Educated and trained in London, Terry founded ILO over 30 years ago with Gary Walker. Terry was also voted "Leading Hair Stylist in Washington, DC" by Washingtonian magazine. As the Director at ILO Academy, he continues to practice and teach not only the basic fundamentals of cutting, but also the concepts and techniques of tomorrow.

Laurent Chauvet

Stylist

Ultra cool and off-the-cuff - whether it's a radical transformation or a simple, subtle variation, Laurent rises to the challenge, combining classic beauty with the unexpected. Originally educated at Vidal Sassoon and Ivan Beauchomain in Paris, he continues to pursue evolving trends and new techniques. In addition to caring for his clients, Laurent has found notoriety working on photo shoots, fashion shows, and industry events.

Darin Cook

Stylist

Classically trained at Vidal Sassoon and Pivot Point, Darin has travelled globally to educate himself in the fine art of hair dressing. Nearly a DC native, he has been making prominent Washingtonians stay stylish for a decade. One of Darin’s accomplishments is that he is founder of Darin David Spa in Key West, Florida. His work has been seen on runways, on stage and in magazines.  Darin uses advanced cutting techniques to customize cuts to enhance your bone structure.   

Kristjun Holt

He's an aura of cool that no one can pin down. From recreating a simple style to breathing life into a new vision, Kristjun believes there are no boundaries to achieving great looking hair. His hands-on, original approach to cutting sets the pace for others to follow - behind the chair and on stage. Kristjun extends his positive personality and artistic talents to the salon, at ILO Academy, and across the country, traveling with L'Oreal Professionnel as a national educator and platform stylist.

Marcella Johnstone

The beauty of being at ease with one's self - it's a quality that Marcella capitalizes upon. Her low-key approach and keen eye for creating cool, current styles that compliment the personalities of her clients keep her on the go and in demand. Marcella has worked on hair and fashion shows around the world alongside of some big names, including Vera Wang and Oscar De La Renta. She also specializes in long hair dressing and makeup for formal occasions. Educated at the renowned L'Oreal Academy in London, she is recognized today as one of Washington's top hair stylists, caring for clients that include Kenneth Branagh, Eugene Levy, Faith Hill, Sissy Spacek, and more.

Meenoo Labana

Born in London, Meenoo graduated with a business management degree and moved towards the fashion industry to pursue her dream in hair and make-up.  She is a licensed stylist and make-up artist and a graduate of Graham Webb Academy.  Meenoo has received advance training from Ilo where she has excelled to become a stylist.

With a keen flair for today's trends, Patricia takes a spirited approach to cutting and styling contemporary styles. Fluent in Spanish and English, she has been with ILO since 1989. A master with curly hair, blow-outs, wedding styles, and up-dos, Patricia credits her two teenagers for her energetic flair and a youthful sense of style.

Artistic ideas combined with innovative techniques. Born into the business, Salvador's father, a barber, introduced him to the industry 21 years ago. Prior to joining ILO he worked for Frederic Fekkai in New York. He is a dynamic artist who believes that classic beauty never fades.

Ado Fano

Colorist

Born with an undeniable zest for life, Ado has translated this passion into her work as a color specialist for the last 25 years. Trained in Paris as a colorist and educator with world-renowned stylist Jean-Louis Desforges, Ado has lent her talents to New York and Paris runways, and to studio work for magazines. She has worked in Paris, New York and Washington, DC for such notable houses as Jacques Dessange, Bruno Dessange, Frédéric Fekkai, Aqua and Salon Ilo. Always aware of current trends in fashion, Ado is noted by her clients for her impeccable interpretation of their personal style while staying focused on the health of their hair. She believes that color is not only a necessity but also an accessory.
Ado’s philosophy of color reflects her innovative personal style and sense of etiquette: an elegant simplicity inspired by a respect of one’s natural coloring. Her understanding and adherence to this basic principle, coupled with her passion for blending the perfect color, has become her signature trademark. Ado uses color to define a cut; essential to her
technique is the subtle blending of complimentary hues to create an effect of flawless color. She uses this same method in performing corrective color applications. Her attentiveness to her clients’ needs and her willingness to educate her clients on the

Kim Lawson

There's a reason that some of her clients travel many miles to have Kim do their hair. As an expert in multiple color lines, Kim Lawson's color creativity has been sought after for 10 years. As a colorist, Kim has showcased her work around the country and was a lead trainer with Wella color line;  teaching technique and style to many "Up 'n Coming" colorists. Kim brings her unique talents to Salon ILO and is well versed in the needs of all hair types. If you’re looking for a fresh eye and customized hair color, look no further.

Eduardo Bravo

Hair Artist

Eduardo’s natural charisma and enthusiasm for hair allows his guests to feel at ease the moment they are in his chair. He will talk to you about what you want, what you'd like to change, but most importantly he listens. At 15, he apprenticed under international TIGI educators, Master Instructors and Colorists from Vidal Sassoon where he developed strong foundational techniques such as his signature dry cutting finish. As a specialist with long hair he is certified in Great Length Extensions™; he can achieve glamorous looks by adding volume, length, texture or color, determined after a proper consultation. Eduardo graduated with a BS in Business Management and a minor in Psychology while building a loyal clientele. After 8 years of hair artistry experience, ILO is happy to welcome Eduardo to our team.
